The Lich King is dead. The door is open. Time to crash the party! Dilution tore through nearly everything in our path this week, crushing six of the twelve hardmode bosses ICC25 has to offer. Marrowgar, Lootship, Saurfang, Rotface, Council, and Blood Queen Lana'thel, ALL in heroic mode, dead in our first week. Great job, guys, and keep up the good work!!
Marrowgar HM was a cakewalk. Dilutions ten-man strategy worked perfectly, with only a couple of attempts to fine tune the details. When everyone survived the bonestorms, the fact he had more health and spiked people throughout the entire encounter made little difference. Pwned. Wtfpwned. Roflstomped!
Lootship HM was... well, it didn't get the nickname "Lootship" for being difficult. 'Nuff said.
Saurfang HM was a bit tricky. Dilution used every trick in our arsenal to overcome this monster. He hits like a truck! On top of that, healers got a crash course in heal management when we saw how many marks go out during the course of this encounter. We were able to overcome this DPS check, however, giving us 3/4 hardmodes complete for the first wing (Lady Deathwhisper, your time will come)!!
Rotface HM, a memory returned (shown). Basically the same smelly son of a bitch we killed months ago, but this time he made our range sick, as if puking on them every 20 seconds wasn't turning their stomach anyways. And where oh where do those slimes come from? Does he ever run out? Maybe his twin brother has something to do with it. Oh Festerslut, where are you? I got a question to ask ya! /bonk.
CouncilHM (shown) is Blizzards way of throwing a monkey wrench into a perfectly good ass whoopin'! Take a fight that requires massive movement and coordination, and punish people who move! Fun stuff. Thankfully, having multiple ten-man groups defeat Council gave us a working knowledge of how important details on this fight are, such as hitting a beach ball (avoiding a shock zone) while trying to get 12 yards away from everyone, hoping someone dispells your glittering sparks before you have to run away from a fireball. Ugh. Dilution rocked this fight textbook style, first making progress in baby steps, surviving to the enrage, applying more DPS a step at a time, then leaps and bounds, ultimately destroying it! Great job. --->
Blood Queen Lana'thel HM, revisited (shown). Yeap, the chick is still nuts. After a few seconds of pounding her (again), she still bites someone. Then, that person still gets to bite someone. More bites, more bites - and half our raid is STILL turned into bloodthirsty vampires who just have one thing on their mind - MOAR DEATH! --->
Of course, it's not quite as easy this time around... or was it? Staying several yards apart from people was elementary, especially after Council, so the only major difference we saw on this fight was simple - Queen Lana had her heroic power drink this morning! She made our DPS work it a little harder, our healers and tanks sweat a little more, but she still went down like a virgin on prom night! (chuckles...)
SPECTACULAR JOB, DILUTION!
Clearing 6/12 hardmodes first week in was our goal, which we hit! 14 pieces of ilevel 277 loot
went out to Dilution this week from ICC25, plus a pair of Heroic Tokens. This healthy demonstration of talent put Dilution
back in the drivers seat for late night progression, and we look forward to farming these bosses in the next few weeks
while working on Lady Deathwhisper, Festergut, Putricide, Dreamwalker, Sindragosa, and finally... The Lich King...
Props to all who helped make it happen, and a pox on the naysayers!
The LICH KING is DEAD! Yes, Arthas was arcane blasted, cleaved, devastated, eviscerated, fairy-fired, garroted, hammered, immolated, judged, kill-shot, lacerated, mauled 'n' overpowered, parried, quickly ripped and raked, shield slammed and serpent stung and sinister struck, tricks'ed and taunted, unstably-afflicted, volleyed, wrathed, Xorcised (...?), YET he was not ZERGED, which means everyone did their part in putting a huge notch on Dilutions belt. Raiders - we salute you. Awesome job tonight.
It's been an interesting run this year. Dilution's seen many faces come and go, management changes, drama, progression, and ultimately success on the final regular mode encounter in "Wrath of the Lich King." To those of you who stuck with us since the leadership transition last year, and those of you who have joined since, many thanks for helping us through a difficult, complicated, and frustrating encounter. Feels good to see 'ole Arthas taking a dirt nap, eh? =)
Now everyone, welcome aboard - The hardmode train awaits!
Ahh, new content. So fresh. So appealing. So... easy? After a little fun managing twilight realm positioning while DPS got chopped in half, Halion went down in a blaze of glory. Props goes to Malois, who actually scored a trinket opening week! Thanks to Lyta, Minnerva, and others for coordinating strategy and giving us handy information on the fly as we buzzed through this place.
Well, we followed the smell coming from down the hallway, and after some AoE fun, found Sindragosa and her two buddies from the barrio (Rimefang and Spinestalker). More dragons, hrmm. "Raised by the Lich King himself," Sindragosa required a bit of coordination to down, but in the end Dilution survived. "Left.. Right.. Left. Clear your stacks! MOVE!!" Heh, good times. Dilution also cleared 11/12 ICC25 in one night tonight, and officially has MOST of ICC25 on farm. Great job, and hells yeah.
Now it's time to find our good buddy Arthas, and try to figure out why
he put on that damn hat...
